Sweet And Scary

I had a great time with friends this morning at Playgroup, then scurried home, fed the kids, and put them down for naps before the ladies from Bible Study got here....When I went to go wake up Carter to go get the kids off the bus this is what I found.... How cute! (but also a bit scary!) I usually check all the "cat sleeping spots" before I put the kids down for naps, but in my haste I forgot to check the closet today.... and Mags is such a love bug....she can't resist a snuggle! :)

Slow and Steady...

After much debate (thanks for putting up with me Fam and Friends!) we traded in our "Tea Cookie" for a "Baked Scone" color...after much analyzing and far too many trips back and forth to Home Depot. (and samples to boot!)

Many thanks to PaPa (aka SpiderMan) for scaling the walls and painting our super high ceiling and walls!!! And to MiMi for watching the kids all weekend so we could get lots of work done without little Bug-a-Boos around...And Susan for the final paint choice color! (Do you see Waldo (I mean Mike) in the above pic??)

The trim, windows, and door are our Nemesises right now...coat after coat...(Thanks MiMi for coming and painting today while I was at Playgroup!!! :) We think with one more coat it will be good to go! We had to put the sofas and TV back out today so I could keep kids...We can't wait for it to be totally done!! I will def. post a pic of the finished room sometime later this week! Yay! :)

"Cheerio Then?!?!?"

We think we might have settled on a color..."Tea Cookie!" (fun name!) Went to get a little batch tonight to try it out before our "Paint Party" this weekend...(the pic in the mag above sold us on it...hopefully it will look as nice) We def have a lot of work to do this weekend! I got hyper and wish I could do more tonight.... :)

And here is our little "Floor Man"...he is constantly sitting on his side like this these days and gets up and rocks like he is gonna be crawling soon...what in the world?!!?!

What Would You Choose?!?!?!?

I always love going to other people's houses to see how they decorate and paint (thanks Katherine!)...I'm just always too chicken to do anything! Well after months of looking and finally choosing our laminate (Thanks MiMi and PaPa!!!!!) it's now time to choose our paint! There are so many colors of EVERYTHING!!!! We love dark wood and so our furniture it dark so we picked a light wood for the floor...to contrast and also bc our house is itty bitty and we didn't want it to look smaller with flooring...We love other people's modern houses, but ours is kinda traditional....So what colors would you pick for the chair rail and walls if you lived here? We don't want to do a ton of work with nothing to show for it, but we also want to keep the openness...decisions decisions! (The great room has a vaulted ceiling...)

Fireplace, picture, and couches are our "jumping off points"...

All of our rooms connect so it's hard to stop one color and start another...although we do know how if we want to paint the dining room a different color (Thanks for the tip KB!)...

Thanks for your help with this...we are so excited! Just wish someone would say, "This is what you will do" and then we could do it! :)

The Adventures of Meow Meow and Quow Quow

I've returned to "Nannyhood" this week and I am watching one of my After School kids little brothers during the day. He and Mallory have been having a blast! I get to sit back and watch their adventures unfold...so fun! They chase Maggie and Stella all over calling them Meow Meow and Quow Quow...it's neat to see her follow his lead with their storylines...He is 4 and is as good as gold. It has been hard to miss out on all my playgroups this week, but I'm def. grateful to have so much freedom this year during the day...it has been awesome! We have spent many an hour in Park Morin these last 3 days...but tomorrow and Friday are going to be raaaaaaaaaaaa-iny! Had to take advantage of the awesome weather while we could! :)

Weekend in Reverse

The kids slept in til almost 9 this morning! We went to bed late after going to our Annual Church picnic last night! Such a good time! With church starting at 9:30 though there was no way for us to get there in time...so we had a little church here and then split girls and guys for the day. Aunt Susan came over and we went shopping and then to MiMi and PaPa's pool. Mallory is hugging her new buddies...a talking Elmo that MiMi found for $1 at a yard sale and a doll that Susan got her today who she named Betty Lou (it's the first doll she has ever named!)...

Daddy and PaPa worked some more on the swing set while Carter took his morning nap. (Above pic shows off his new top tooth peeking through!)

It was our first trip to the pool this year. (What difference a yr makes!) Mallory loved it! She was jumping off the sides to me over and over again. She was trying to swim like a "big girl" and put her head under. She walked up and down the steps in and out of the pool and she loved having me throw her "up in the sky" and catch her in the water. We are so excited that she loves the pool! Now we will have to get her a little life jacket since she loves it so much. My favorite was when she would have a "giggle fit" after being caught from jumping in the water.

Yesterday we had some time after naps and before the picnic (Mike was at a Dance Recital for several of his students) so we headed out to drop off a book at the library (thanks Cara!), but not before stopping at Chickfila to split a delicious milkshake with my girl! Heaven! :)

Then when we got home we spent some time playing in the van (which we do often when we arrive home...neighbors prob think we are crazy!). It is apparently the coolest hangout spot ever! Mallory loves to sit on the backseat and read to us when we get home. She likes to stick her sippy cup in the holder back there...and Carter likes being read to!
And Friday night I got to go to Book Club and enjoy time with friends chatting about life and literature! What a great weekend! :)!!!

Berry Farm 09

Our Strawberry Shortcake and Huckleberry Pie...

We had so much fun today with my friend Meredith and her little girl who is a month older than Carter. Mallory was all about the moonbounce this time and the animals of course! And both children enjoyed the hayride and the strawberries! Didn't take Mallory but about 2 secs to get to eating them! Yummy! :)!!!
