Halloween 2010

MiMi, PaPa, and Aunt Susan headed over after naptime today...We carved Carter's pumpkin and put some potato head pieces in his to give it the Carter touch... :)

Ate some yummy subs (Thanks MiMi and PaPa!) and left them to man the door!

Some one was a little excited! We had to trick or treat inside last yr so it was so nice to be healthy and go! (Although she did love it last yr and wanted to do that again at first this yr!)

Chhhhhheeeeeeseeeee!

Love this one...see why we call him the "Hulk"....

Cheesing it with Aunt Susan...

One more...and we are off!

Happy little gremlin was so excited to get candy at the first house...he would've been happy right then to go on home and eat his Skittles...

It was so fun to see all the neighbors...it was so packed...seemed like more out than 2 yrs ago!

One the 2nd street we broke down and let him have a sucker...at the end of the second street the dragon was toast and went home to do bedtime with MiMi...

We kept going with the bunny! Mike gave her a pep talk about her "Trick or Treats" (she is so shy...) and not growing up too quick on us...

After the 4th street she was ready to head home...All worn out...

Happiness...

Hugs!

Checking out the loot and choosing a piece! What a fun holiday!

Pool Party!

We were super excited to head to a pool party for a friend yesterday...A Pool Party in Oct?!?! How cool! M couldn't believe it since all the pools she knows about are closed!

Relay races...M had a blast! The men folk stayed home and napped and played things like Mr. Potato (ARM) Head...Carter is convinced the arms go on top of his head...it's really funny to see them shake hands or give each other "fist bumps"...but there is no convincing him at this point that they should be on the side of his body...good times...good times... :)

Trunk or Treat

We went trunk or treating with friends on Fri. night...Girls from one of my playgroups invited us bc their soccer team had a "trunk" in the lineup....We had fun walking around with Trina and Co...(Mike was chaperoning the middle school dance)...I was late getting there and the girls were so sweet to go around with us again so M and Carter could get candy...They showed us right where to go and didn't ask to get seconds once! The girls were so photogenic...the bunny and dragon...not so much!

I have never been trunk or treating, but heard it was a lot of fun...and it was!

Carter would just assume dance and eat... :)

We had a great time with you all! Let's hang out more often!

It's a Bird, It's a Plane....

It's Mags the cat!!!!!! :)

Maggie is such a cool cat...she always needs to be near us...and I guess sometimes above us!

She climbed up in the small dogwood tree in the middle of the kickball field (aka our back yard) when we were playing on Fri...(Let me just say that I love kickball and wish I could play in an adult league...it's just such a fun time!)

Down she comes...We all enjoyed watching her acrobatic skills as she went up and came back down...

Our sweet Mag-i-licious...

We love our furry friend!

MiMi Makes the Rounds

MiMi came to see both kids at their different activities on Friday...

First up...Mal's costume parade at school!

So fun to see all the kids...M missed last yr bc she was sick...

There goes the bunny chewing on her whiskers..."Nervous Nellie!" (MiMi found some other costumes and the kids love dressing up all the time...the elephant suit was way too tight for Carter and so MiMi found him a new one for Halloween and saw this bunny one too...Thanks MiMi! The kids love dressing up all yr around the house!)

Next it was Carter's turn at soccer...MiMi got right in there and played!

Popcorn Parachute time!

Team Huddle before snack time...Go TEAM! :)

Then Aunt Susan called and asked if we could meet up for lunch...What a nice surprise...So we picked up M from school and headed to a park with some yummy Chickfila...

Such a fun and chilly time...Crazy that it was so hot we had the AC on the day before...WHACKY weather!

Good times! Thanks for the memories MiMi and Aunt Susan!

One Down, One to Go...

Mal and one B&A Kid helped me scoop out the seeds of M's pumpkin on Thurs...Mal drew a pic of what she wanted the face to look like...one big eye and one little eye, circle nose, and smile....and after dinner I carved while Mike tried to learn how to play Edelweiss on the guitar and the kids played in the other room and came in periodically to show us things...Always a chaotic good time...Carving! But the seeds have been so yummy to eat!!!! Now we just have Carter's to do!!! :)

Favorite!!!!! :)!!

I was a little bit HYPER when both my sisters texted me that the ENTIRE cast of my favorite movie was going to be on Oprah today! We might be the only people in America not to have DVR so I am hoping to catch it the first time around...if not I'm hoping they will re-air it here...YAY!!! :)

Parade

Our MOPS group went to a Nursing Home today to have a parade...I love seeing the old and young together! I was worried that we weren't going to get out the door though...We had an "angry elephant" on our hands...he wanted to stay home and play with dinosaurs...I thought their might be a "stampede"! But we got there!

We walked around to and chatted with people...Carter was so excited when a lady came out with a walker with a basket full of candy...He wasn't too pleased that he had to wait to eat the candy though...We walked through different parts of the home...we walked down to the woodshop...So cool to see the little things they were carving...Carter loved the little dog one of them made...again he was not to pleased to have to leave to go to the next area...It was so nice though...the smiles on their faces...the old lady grabbing my arm and saying, "enjoy them...I was too busy and now mine are grown and live far away..." We can learn so much from our elders!

Gave her the MOON!

Aunt LuLu sent M an early BDay gift in the mail since she won't be at her party this yr...she knows how much her niece loves the moon and the animals who are up all night...She was so excited to get a "moon for her room"!!! Mallory calls them the "faces" of the moon instead of phases... :) Thank you Laura!

Perfection....

Dinos and trains....and life is good for this little man...

Enjoying time around the house...our perfect moments and our not so perfect moments....I want life to be perfect...but the essence of what I believe is that life isn't perfect...But that there is someone who is perfect and He can perfectly be there for each and every person and what they are going through..."Even there Your hand will guide me...Your right hand will hold me fast" (Psalm 139:10)...Click here for a devo on perfection...
