Feet-ful Fairy Tales...

We are having a "Pah Jay Jay (as Daddy calls them) Day" around here...I just dressed the kids for their nap time! It's a rainy day so we have done lots of reading, chasing, and crafting (over and over!)...the sun came out mid-morning, so that was nice! Too soggy for us to go outside though...

Mallory loves fairy tales...this is a book that one of the B&A kids gave her...she loves it...We have taken turns reading parts of it to each other today...I love to watch her hands and feet as she reads...such expression!

In college when I was studying to be an Elem. School Teacher we studied fairy tales...and for the first time I realized how frightening they are--- someone always dies in the beginning and gets replaced with an evil step parent and there is always a villan...Such drama for a little person to be thinking about! I guess they don't think about it the same way as an adult...

Today she wanted to read Hansel and Gretel...ahhh! Tried to give her the 3 yr old version leaving stuff out...but still so many questions... "Why did they get left in the forest?" (Sadness!!!...glossed over that part) And I mean the end....shoving the witch in the oven! Oh well...I guess we all grow up on them! :) She usually sticks to Snow White, Cinderella, and Peter Pan...but those have some scary parts too! Good thing good always triumphs evil! :)
