24 hr Getaway

MiMi helped us put the "break" in Spring Break...she kept the kids so we could get away for the night for the first time in 3 yrs! (We've had lots of Date Nights-- just not getaways...)

We were debating between the beach and a vineyard...both would be so fun, but chose the beach bc it was more "us" and cheaper!...so nice to be on the ocean...The beach is my favorite...I love the peace and reflection it brings! We had so much fun walking and chatting on the boardwalk and got to eat here! I loved eating on the boardwalk and looking out on the water....they had fire pits too which I love... :) So nice to just "be" and talk with my best friend...

I was excited to see the sun set until Mike reminded me it would be setting in the west... :)

But we went out to see the sun rise in the morning and to take some Dawson Creek pics under the pier!

We had a hard time getting a good pic of the 2 of us...here is our best... :)

Thanks MiMi (and PaPa at night time...he still had to work) for creating so many fun memories with the kids while we were away...The kids had a blast and so did we! :)

Easter w/ the Graham Fam

Leaving church and heading over to the Graham Casa...Couldn't get a pic of both kids together...

Wishing Auntie LuLu a Happy Easter on the phone...

The kids almost always make a bee line for the fish pond when we arrive at their house...

Checking out their baskets from MiMi and PaPa...

Carter is loving this holiday!

Feeding the fish...

Running around in the yard...

The Graham Fam

Some more running...

The spectators are ready for the "hunt"...

Finding eggs...the most challenging hunt for the kids this weekend...

Carter was in a hurry to choose his one egg to eat and was none to pleased that he only got to eat one! He is excited for PaPa to unwrap it!

So neat to see him hunt for the first time this yr!

Lounging in the hammock with my girl...

Chatting...

Carter loved swinging with MiMi in the hammock...

M needed to join it too...Thanks for hosting a great Easter Meal and afternoon MiMi and PaPa....so relaxing and fun! :)

This video CRACKS me up!!! I love how Carter is running around like a spaz at the beginning!

Easter Morn

The kids woke up to jelly bean trails and baskets...

We had to wake the kids up and scurry around bc we had Welcome at church this am and needed to be at church early...

Then we headed downstairs to hunt!

Carter was way into it! Mallory was "easing" into the morning...sleepy girl! :) Then we headed off to church to celebrate!

3rd Egg-stravaganza for us!

Today was the day for our annual church Egg-stravaganza! Click here to see how the kids have grown over the yrs...

We couldn't have had a nicer day for it! It was gorgeous outside!!

Carter was very anxious to get started and was very upset to have to wait until it was time to get to hunting...a lesson on patience for him... :) He was so happy when the hunt began...

With 2 going in different directions all busy-like I didn't get to document the action...but here is M looking over her loot with her Daddy...both kids chose Fun Dip as their one piece of candy to have right then...

Carter loved the swingset and "driving"...

Mallory got her face painted for the first time! She's always been too timid in the past...

Ta-Da!!! :)

Picnic lunch....

Then Carter was back with the eggs...they recycle the same eggs each yr...Carter was loving digging through the bin...

M&M finishing lunch and Mal saw me and joined in on the digging...

Good times...check out M's lip...this is serious business...you would think after several eggs they would stop bc they were empty, but no...the game could have gone on all afternoon... :)

My boys leaving...

We stopped to play at one of our other church friends house's afterwards...followed them on over from the hunt...Mallory got to drive a jeep for the first time at their house...she loved it! Those things are so cool! I always wanted one as a kid!

The Dad's played b-ball, the mommies chatted, and the kids played with toys in the driveway...

Hugging Alex goodbye and it was home for naptime...This little guy didn't make it and fell asleep on the way home...love to get my snuggles when I can! :) What a fun start to Spring Break!

"Beep beep...Who's got the keys to the jeep!??!!?"

Heb. 12:1-3

Yesterday was one busy day! Mallory had her Easter celebration at school, Carter and I had MOPS, and Grandma and Grandpa were arriving during naptime! Mallory got to stay up and wait for them to get here...We played 100 Acre Wood Memory...good times! :)

Grandma got right into helping with the B&A kids after school and Mallory was really excited to show her all the items in the Resurrection Eggs after dinner...(we only have 2 left to open!) and then Grandma drew the items in the eggs...It was another quick visit and they left this am to get back to RI....record amounts of rain and problems with their cellar...but it was nice to have them for the night!

These kids are obsssessed with these eggs and looking at the items...I love that they love talking about it...it's like the kid's Nativity at Christmas...they really get into it!

We made bunny sugar cookies today after lunch...such an easy way for them to feel like they baked something and Carter can be included...

On this Good Friday I am just so grateful for all that Jesus did for us and all that He offers us if we just trust in Him...

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles,
and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,
the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before him endured the cross,
scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men,
so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

~Hebrews 12:1-3
