Hawkin' it with a Hat!

Daddy has been laying low since Sunday night...he went to the Dr. (per his momma's orders on Mother's Day-- thanks Sally!) and has bronchitis...he was feeling a little better yesterday afternoon after lots of rest and meds....and wanted to look through bins of clothes for the new season for the kids and found this hat for Carter...I put it on him while he was playing with a B&A kids Tony Hawk ramp...

Carter thought it felt so funny!

He is serious about working on his "Hawkish" moves!

I couldn't handle it!

Such a silly boy!

Here he comes!

See why he lost his shirt after lunch? Notice that his pants didn't fare much better than his shirt (apple sauce stain)...I love this little monkey...he is such a mess! :)

A piece of the action...

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day at church and then dinner with my parents and Aunt Susan on Sunday...

It was so fun to have a kid old enough to really get into Mother's Day this yr...She was so excited to show me the things she made in school for me (right when she got in the van!!!)...A flower made out of her hand prints amongst other things...cute! And we got to plant seeds that she brought home for me too...she was so excited! She wanted to get right to it once Carter was down for his nap on Thurs...

We might see some little flowers poke up by the end of the week! :)

Some current Mal-isms that I don't want to forget:
*she loves making cakes and singing Happy BDay...but she sings it with one word differently "Happy Birthday DEAR you..." the whole way through instead of saying "to"...
*when she can do something herself she says..." look I can do it by my own!" instead of by myself!
*she often picks Beautiful [Girl] for her song at night before bed...the 3 of us sing it together and she knows the whole thing by heart, but sings "the monsters gone, he's on the RUG...instead of on the run"
*she likes making "pra-prises" (surprises) for us
*she like's playing "rest-ur-haunt" (restaurant) and writing down our orders on a pad
I love these little misspeaks and will miss them when they are gone!

I'm so Grateful....

....to be the mother of these 2 .... :)

More of our visit...

Playing memory from the Highlights Magazine...

Snuggling....and off to the park!

Some "serious" swinging...

So nice to have extra hands at the park!

Heading home for lunch...

Grandpa fed Carter his drink at snacktime one day...now that is service! We were cracking up at C's laziness!

And clapping with Gma! Looking fwd to seeing you all again this summer!

A Turtle!!!!

Grandma and Grandpa came back to finish out their April visit that got cut short...We have spent a lot of time in "Park Morin"....Grandma and Carter went on a walk in the woods while M and I played in the sandbox one day...

They came back to get us and show us their find!!!

A turtle! We haven't found one before in our yard...How neat!

See his head poking out? When we asked M what we should name him she said, "Carter!"...(on a side note---when you ask her how many children she wants when she grows up she will say,
"5 babies named Carter"...too funny!)

This little guy went for the "ride of his life" in the hands of my littles! Then we let him be...and when we returned later that afternoon he was no where to be found-- smart turtle! Hope we find him again one day though!

Carter taking one of his first rides in the "big boy swing" with Grandma pushing...

The other Morins came out for dinner one night and Carter was obsessed with his Uncle Matt! It was quite funny! :)

Raised on "The Street"...

Our friends invited us to go to BG again with them on Sat...so off we went! I was so glad all 4 of us could go this time! (It was way hotter and way more crowded this time though...didn't get to ride as many rides, but still so much fun!) We enjoyed riding over the park in the sky tram!

We saw Bert first when we got to the Sesame section....Carter was SO EXCITED!!! I love seeing the kids light up at the sight of a character...MAGICAL...

And wherever there is Bert there has to be Ernie!

Awww! I love that our kids have been "raised on the street"....Sesame Street that is! :)

Elmo..."MOMO MOMO!!!" as Carter would say!

Abby Cadabs!

And our 2 friends again!

I love Carter's hands in this one...he was so excited! We were in line after seeing some other characters and Carter saw these 2 and made a bee-line...(clothes lining himself with the rope for the line to wait for the ones we were currently visiting-- so glad he didn't get hurt...he was on a mission!)

M and A... (it was so cute...in church the next day she said-- "There's Alex!...and they held hands walking to Children's Worship...so cute!)

Big Bird! M found one of his feathers and was desperate to find him again to give it back to him... :)

What a fun day with friends!!!! :)

20 months

This post is a week late! It's been busy around here! Our little guy is 20 months old! When we got back from dropping his big sis off at school last week this is what he wanted to do while I washed and folded laundry beside him in the hall...

He loves bath time! And I love Tues. mornings with just him bc it is neat to see what he wants to do since he doesn't have an older sis to follow around...
At 20 months he:
*no longer wants to be a dentist...brushing teeth looks like a WWE match around here
*still loves reading...came over to me today and said, "read" and handed me a book before sitting down in my lap--- love it and didn't know he knew that word-- knew he knew book...
*is still a game show host with his smile-y-ness....I've realized that a lot of his falls happen when he is "cheesing it up" and looking backwards at someone instead of where he is going! :)
*is nervous on kiddie rides at the amusement park
*loves seeing characters and hugging them...it's like magic
*he still loves music and dancing
*he is attached to his mommy :)

He still loves to vacuum and is my big helper around here on Tuesdays. :) It was also neat to see him "in class" this yr on Thursdays when I had MOPS (it's over now for the yr- SAD!) and when I would go to Bible Studies on Thursdays...I loved the MOPS room he was in bc it had the kind of glass that I could see in and watch him and he couldn't see me...fun to observe! :)

We love our Moose and he blesses us each day with his fun personality...Can't believe I only have a few more months to celebrate and post about before he is 2! My baby boy is growing up!
