JDP in the House!

We had so much fun with Joshua and his parents today! :) Joshua is quite the "water baby" and got right into playing in the pool! We also learned that JDP is a "dancing machine"....he danced so much and he didn't even need music half the time! What a cutie! We were excited to have a play date in our new pool! (Thanks MiMi and PaPa for bringing it last night! :) ) We can't wait to see the P. Fam again!

Mallory has so much fun with the kids I Nanny...especially Sam (who Mallory calls the "baby" even though she is only 6 months younger!) They have been having such a blast since Sam learned to walk and they are all over the place! (Sometimes Mallory is a little "Bossy McBoss-in-Steen" though and we have to watch her!) We enjoyed a "quick" ride in the wagon today (too hot for Miss Preggo!) And then we cooled off in the shade of the porch...
We think Mallory has graduated to 1 nap a day (she has boycotted the a.m. nap for a week straight...Mike is going to give it one last shot tomorrow while I'm @ Book Club...wish him luck!) We are surprised she has gone this long with 2...and the transition (knock on wood) hasn't been bad, she just goes down right after lunch for her 3 hrs instead of 2 1.5 hr naps...(except the 2 days with Sam she wakes up after 1 hr and a half...Could it be that she wants to play with her buddy!?!?! :)

We met up with a friend today at the fountains at a mall in the area. I was excited to put Mallory in her little "surfer girl" swim suit for the occasion. :) We expected her to be timid and she was...maybe by the end of the summer she will be running all through it!

We Found it!!!!

We got to try out one of our fav pools we saw this weekend on our hunt...and it's so fun! We were excited that the trunk actually works and isn't a gimmick! Thanks for having us over Z. Fam! We can't wait to get one for our backyard!

She's 8!!!!

Mallory was excited to join us in the a.m. for the camp out...she was surprised to see a tent in the living room! :) And below she is enjoying one of Daddy's creations!
Abby came over for her "B-Day Sleepover" last night...we headed out to 2 different parks and she chose "The Home of the Flower Pot Bread" for dinner....We camped out in the living room and had yummy "S'more Pancakes" this morning courtesy of Chef Uncle Mike....yumm yumm!

BBQs x 2!

We had a "grillin' day" today! :) Lots of fun with friends at 2 cookouts...one for lunch and one for dinner and a nice 2.5 hour nap for the fam in between....can't beat a day like today! Mallory really enjoyed the water table at the first cookout....might have to get one for our backyard! She was a little scared of the sprinkler...Can't wait to see what water activities she enjoys this summer! We are trying to find the "perfect" pool for her this weekend to use in the backyard...the hunt continues! :)

SADness! A diner we frequented in Maine closed down this week (after 50 yrs!)! Oh the memories! We will have to find a new place to get grub on our summer visits....(the good news is it's moving so we could take a ride to check it out in it's new location...)

Today was gorgeous! Mike had Daddy Daughter Day here at home (his holiday had already started from school...and the little girl I Nanny for was sick today so we kept Mallory out of the mix)....they had a lot of fun enjoying the nice weather...and now Uncle Matt is here for "Brother Night"...they are heading out after dinner to see Ironman...

I just love Memorial Day because of the promise of SUMMER to come! I took a long walk in my Nannying Neighborhood with the child I sit for and was overwhelmed with the nice weather and all the blessings in my life and in the world around me....Enjoy the holiday everyone!!! :)

A Very MERRY UN-Birthday!

Hard to believe our little girl is a year and a half today!!! It's her half B-Day! We are so blessed by her personality! She brings so much joy to our lives and is growing up so quickly! She seems to be hitting the "terrible twos" early bc her fav word is "No!" and we have been trying to teach her it is ok to say no if you say "no thank you" so now she very passionately says "no" and signs "thank you"....a little funny bc the sign for thank you doesn't look so nice if you don't know the sign (you put your hand to your chin and then drop it)...but some people have mistaken it for her blowing kisses after saying no...so we let them think that to counteract the "no!" :) We have also been talking to her a lot about her brother in my belly...she likes to touch my belly button and rub my tummy and say, "baby"....but then she lifts her shirt and does the same thing! I think we are confusing the poor girl! Another cute thing she has just started doing is wanting to hold our hands to pray before meals....and then again and again...she wants to pray and pray! It's so fun!

***We went to the doctor today (5/20) for her checkup....she now weighs 22 lbs 2 oz and is in the 20%tile for weight (up 5%) and 65%tile for height (down 10%)....we won't go back again for a checkup til she's 2! Crazy! :)

We were so excited that today was so SUNNY! We headed out to a little island on the river in our area for my sister Susan's work party...it was WONDERFUL! Yummy food, tons of games and activities for the kids, and all the ice cream you could eat from the ice cream truck! Such a fun day!!!! :)

Gardening with Granny

After "Family Dinner" on Thurs. MiMi and Mallory planted flowers in our flower boxes on our porch...Thanks MiMi and PaPa! It's so nice to have flowers to look at now and it was a fun way to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation for MiMi! :)

Well little Mallory has been battling a fever for the past few days...Mike took off work yesterday to take her to the doctor (I was sitting for one of my families who had a funeral)...and our little girl has her first "viral infection"...so we are having a "Pajama Day" here at home and taking lots of naps...she is such a trooper though as the title says! :)

Yesterday in all the craziness of double duty nannyhood, I dropped my phone in the "twa-lay"...Mike desperately needed a new phone anyway, so off to Verizon I went last night....we got such a deal...2 phones for $30...the cheapest of the cheap, but still an upgrade for us! Gotta love it! :) And Mallory got Mike's old cell that we can charge and she can push the buttons and it makes noise and lights up...she loves it...even though in no longer "truly works..."

Happy (Grand)Mother's Day!

What a great day! Mallory slept in until 8:15 (so we did too!!!) and then Mike made M&M pancakes and eggs for me for breakfast before church...and today Mallory graduated to the bigger class for nursery and really loved being in there with the rest of the toddlers now that she is almost 18 months old! :) It was really neat to pick her up and see her "lesson" that she was working on! Then we headed over to MiMi's and PaPa's for a fabulous lunch and relaxing afternoon...Happy Mother's Day everyone!!! :)

Week in Review....

We have had a fun and full week! So much going on! Our little girl is becoming more and more independent each day and has her own ideas about what she wants to do....so parenting gets a bit trickier! We are all learning as we go! :) It's great though!

And we have been kicking around boy names and have come back to our original first choice....so we are trying it out on our little guy around the house to see if it fits... (we will keep it for a surprise for everyone until he is born....ahhhhh the suspense!!!!) And we have started putting songs on the CD we are making to celebrate him...so it's fun to listen to the songs and get excited about our newest bundle of joy as we await his arrival... :)

We are very happy to announce we are expecting a HEALTHY baby BOY!!!! :) Thanks for all your prayers!!!! Keep praying for continued health and a safe delivery when the time is right! Yay God!!! :)!!!
