5 Cats and Some Stats...

Playing "doll baby" with Grandma....

Showing Grandpa the baby...(notice her "Ugs" from Auntie Susan...she is stylin! :)
Reading a book with Daddy before PJ time....and showing Grandma around her room...
Today was a busy day! We started off the day with a trip to the doctor for Mallory's 15 month check up! She weighed in at 20 lbs 3 oz! (She's only gained 5 oz in 3 months!) She dropped in weight to the 15%tile and height to the 70%tile (dropping 5% in each category)...but the Doctor says this is normal because toddlers are much more active all day long. :)
Then Grandma and Grandpa arrived this afternoon with their 2 cats (making a total of 5 in our house!) as they "Migrate for March" to Florida. They will pass through again on their journey home for a longer visit.

Life Meets Fiction...

Had some fun "coloring" today as we stayed home from playgroups because of a croopy cough...
Went outside to stir the stew we had made with the cousins last weekend....
Saw this animal in our yard....what in the world?!!?!? A possum??!?! Hello! It was only here for a sec before making a bee-line for the neighbor's yard....really...what on earth!?!?!?
Being teachers we had to come in and read a story that related to our day...craziness!

Celebrating Grandpa/G.G. Pa

Pictures from our visit this summer...Below Grandpa is doing his rendition of "Tiny Tim"...
We took a whirlwind trip this weekend to Maine to celebrate the life of Mike's Grandpa who passed unexpectedly at the age of 91. We had a wonderful time remembering his life and telling stories...His charm and crackerjack personality will definitely be missed...we are so grateful for his memoirs and all of his writings....

Meanwhile Back Home...

Can we say "overwhelmed" by the excited parents at wake up?!?!?!
Happy to be back in Daddy's arms....then needed MiMi again....
Mallory was having a BLAST with MiMi and PaPa all weekend. It was so comforting to call home and hear that she was doing so well and having such a great time. (This was the first weekend away for us as parents.) When we got home we couldn't wait for her to wake up from her afternoon nap....when she did we raced upstairs to get her...MiMi went with us...we scooped her up and gave her kisses and then she reached for MiMi! She warmed back up quickly though and we were getting more kisses and giggles than normal all evening... :)

Yard Work and Cooking with the Cousins!

The guys when the work was almost through...
Cooking with the cousins in the sandbox...

Today was all about working in the yard! Mike cleaned our gutters and blew all the leaves off the grass with PaPa's leaf blower. Uncle Matt even joined in on the yardwork fun and the cousins got to play together. (We are so glad they have to come "into town" so often and stop by!) Below you can see the kids "cooking"...and you can hear Mike hard at work in the background...

Daddy Daughter Weekend

Mommy's back! So fun to see Mallory's reaction to my return as she woke up from her nap...

Mike and Mallory had such a great weekend! I was in Williamsburg with the ladies from my church on a retreat... It was the first time I had ever been away from Mallory for 2 nights! I had so much fun hanging out and having lots of "girl time."
There was lots of bonding for Mallory and Daddy over the weekend...Uncle Matt and the cousins came over Fri. to spend the night and then Mallory and Mike enjoyed some time with MiMi and PaPa and some time just the 2 of them!
I was so excited to get home to see them both! Mallory was taking her nap and woke up minutes after I arrived...I ran up to get her from her crib...and she looked at me with a smile of confusion...it was so fun! :)
