Grandma's Attic

Spent some time up in MiMi's Attic today with the kids...Mallory had been a bit under the weather the last couple of nights so it was fun to get out of the house after being home for days...I found some cool pics from "back in the day" like the one above...Ahhh sisters! :) I only had my cell to take a pic of it though so it's a bit grainy...Thanks for playing with us MiMi...the kids had fun playing with all the toys and I had fun looking at old pictures!!

Peek-a-Boo!

Somebody loves the little house out back...

Psalm 89:1

Just a boy and his cat....love that Mags is such a "dog"...she follows us everywhere!

The last few days have been "fa-ligh-ful" (delightful) as M would say!

We have enjoyed so much time outside! And time with friends!

Tomorrow it's supposed to be 72 degrees!

The kids are enjoying being outside more and Mommy is too...it does so much for our spirits!

This morning this is where I found Mr. Man...ummmmmm hello! He was none to pleased when I removed him... :)

We ate picnic lunches outside today and yesterday...Carter ate in his vehicle today while M did an "vention" (invention) with her belt...(On a side note another M-ism...when we are riding in the car she will ask for the Circle of Life song like this..."Momma, Can we listen to the Mahhhhh Saaaaaa Banya song"...I love it and will be sad when she doesn't ask for the song using the first 3 African words they sing...it makes me laugh every time...)

These kids love themselves some dill pickles...

Now it's bubble time...love Carter's face in this pic!

And he is off...

Madame Droopy Drawers is on the loose...

Mags is in the mix again...

Practicing football...he will retrieve it then come to me and say, "MamaMama" until I punt it again and he is off...

Set....hike!!!!!!!!!!!!!

M got into a "giggle fit" and I wanted to capture it w/o her knowing... :)

Ahhh Spring Days are here again!!!!

I will leave you with the devotional I read today....such a good one...

Bring it on!!!

Bring on the Spring-y weather!!!! We had a great time at church, then came home and played and worked in the yard, had a fabulous naptime, and then headed back out for a campfire!

We invited MiMi and PaPa over for dinner too...

Love that we can have a campfire and chat...it will be more and more fun as the kids get older...Carter still needs to be "buckled in" somewhere when we have a fire going... :)

Hot dogs and smores over the fire....yummmmm!

Thanks for coming MiMi and PaPa...we had so much fun! So excited for spring and for more light when we "spring fwd" next weekend....it has been an awesome ***snowy*** winter, but now I am ready for all that comes with the spring!!!! :)

18 Months!!!!

Our little boy is 1 and a half and headed towards two-dom in full force! How did this happen?!!?

*He loves books and "reading" which makes his parents so happy...
*He loves climbing the stairs and has no fear of anything...we have recently been able to teach him to "bop down the stairs on his bottom," but he will stand up half way down and try to dance...he is such a goof! Wonder where he gets that from? Guess his "genetic pool" was stacked in that dept!

*He can go "HAPPY to HULK" in point 5 secs! When we got to the drs today the nurses said, "Look at him grinning and so happy...he's not crying..." The sec. I got him undressed to get weighed he was HULK and let the place know he remembered where he was...(M would start crying the second we checked in at the doctor at this age...) Our children def. get "Dr. Phobia" between 1 and 2 yrs...

*Carter doesn't like to be dropped off at the Nursery anymore...he has separation anxiety and never did before...makes it harder to leave him...but he gets over it quickly and going to get him at the end is THE BEST!!! He gets so excited to see you!!! :)
*He has given up his morning nap and now only takes one long nap in the afternoon (M was 19 months when she gave up her morning nap)

*He got his first bloody nose the other day when he fell down while running...He runs around like a "wildman" 24/7...don't know if it is a 2nd child thing or a boy thing...but he is wide open! "A bull in a china shop!"
*He is finding himself in Time Out (1 min) a lot lately...we are working on obeying and looking our parents in the eyes when we are talking about what we did wrong...He thinks discipline is a game, but we know he knows when he is doing wrong...

*He loves Elmo! Here he is with the $1 Elmo MiMi found at a yard sale in NC when M was at the Elmo stage....now it's Carter's turn to lug him around! He talks and everything...
*He likes to help...he was helping me with the laundry until he heard Elmo come on and then ran and got Elmo to watch it over the balcony. The last 15 mins of Sesame Street always grab his attention when it is time for Elmo's World...

*He loves playing with his cars on the new mat in his room...he will lay down and vroom them here and there!
*He doesn't have as many words as his sister did at this age...but we are sure he will have a lot to say when he starts talking! He likes to converse in his own language...
*He is starting to "speak up for himself" and doesn't always want to be "managed" by his big sis...

Mallory got to have a special overnight last night with MiMi and PaPa...PaPa fixed our dryer and then she headed over to their house so I could take Carter alone today to the doctor...She had a blast as always! Thanks MiMi and PaPa!

Here is our little rocker...he loves music! (Love the chaos in the background...B&A Kids playing a computer game, a 4th grader practicing his recorder, and one playing with a pet carrier...)

And here he is with his Elmo...

Bye Bye Baby Locks...

How did our first baby get so big!?!?!? Oh those baby locks!

Today M got her hair cut for the first time! People had started asking if she was going to donate it...so it was time...it was getting a little out of control and straggly...still hard for Mommy to cut off those baby locks...

I made appointments for the kids to go one at a time, but when I got there this morning they said they could take both at once...

Couldn't get many pics of the girl bc her brother was straight up WIGGING! I had to hold him the whole time...he really doesn't like the buzzzzzzzing around his ears....each visit gets harder for him...We def. need professionals to do it...no way I could give him a good cut even if he stayed still...They are def. talented!....oh well...M had fun (No buzzing involved for her!)! See the motion in this shot...trying to keep Carter still and document a moment....

She got 2 inches off and she should be set for quite a while! Love that they give certificates so we will always have it and locks of her hair...Another 1st....Now we are off to "Chick-a-play" to have a playdate with friends! :)

Speedy Migration

Grandma and Grandpa made a speedy migration south this yr bc of all the snow along their travel path...(a long weekend with them turned into just an overnight...)

We had a good time with them Sat. night when they arrived after dinner....

It was like Christmas in Feb...

This little guy turned 18 months on Sat. too...can't believe he is a yr and a half! (I'll share more about him on Friday after his well visit...)

Mallory got a Raggedy Ann doll and book...a traditional gift for the granddaughters from Gma and Gpa...Grandma read her a little before the kids went to bed...

Then Sunday we had a yummy breakfast a la Mike and Grandma preformed "surgery" on a well loved Macky Squeezy...M had loved the stiffins out of his leg and arm in a couple of places...

Then Grandpa needed to vacuum the air filter for the car and you know who had to grab the vac as well!
Then they were on their way....a SPEEDY visit, but a good one and we look forward to seeing them again on their way back! :)
