Relay by Night
We headed back over at 630 to be a part of the Children's Walk...it is neat to have kids old enough to participate in things like this...Nutzy the squirrel arrived to lead us in our lap...
The kids were excited even though we haven't been to a game yet...
Carter was all about him and was quite upset when I needed to pry him away to let others have a turn...
The kids on the walk...
Carter gets carried on the last leg of the journey...
And Dora showed up too! Exciting times!
We then had dinner with our friends under our tent, played some more, listened to the band, and got ready for the luminary ceremony...We made it halfway through the ceremony before having to pack up the kids and head home...it was 10pm and they were headed to "meltdown city"...it was way past their bedtime....I wish we could have made it to see the lighting of the candles and more of the speakers...maybe next time....After we got the kids in bed I headed back out to walk laps and hang out under our tent (4 people on our team spent the night...I stayed until 1am)...it was a good day of reflection and thinking of those who are battling cancer...I think it is neat that people camp out and there is always someone walking around the track for 24 hrs to symbolize the work that needs to be done around the clock to find a cure... it was nice to be able to get out and "do" something and feel the community all working together to remember loved ones and fight for a cure....

How awesome!! Both my kids would have died had they gotten to meet Dora in person!!! What a great lesson you are teaching the kids about the importance of fighting the ugly thing that cancer is.
