Such a beautiful day to go on a hike! M was feeling fine and we wanted to get out of the house and into the fresh air, so we packed a lunch and headed off...
Such a fearless leader she is!
She was really into the path signs this time...we chose the orange trail and she was on the lookout the whole time at crossroads for signs to direct us...
A spontaneous game of "rest-ur-haunt" broke out until Daddy placed his order... "a dish of let's move on with a side of listen to your captain..." hahaha :)
We had a lovely little picnic and then headed on for the second half of the hike...see Mike's handy dandy backpack/cooler?!?! Found it at Big Lots and it's perfect for our fam! A cooler on the bottom and backpack at the top...I love it! We've already used it almost every day since we bought it last week! :) $12 well spent I think!
We saw so many creatures...ducks, squirrels, turtles, and a SNAKE!!! (yikes! it was a black one though-- thank goodness!)
It was fun to take turns strolling/walking/carrying the kids this time...Carter wants to hold your hand now even when he doesn't have to...I got him out of the car the other day in our driveway and he froze and looked up at me and said, "hands!" until I would give him my hand to walk to the door....I guess all our talking about holding hands when we are walking in public is sinking in and he wants to hold hands everywhere...even on a nature hike! He loves piggy back rides too btw!
See the cute turtles on the log? I love being out in God's creation...it just brings peace and reflection...it is so good for the soul! :)

yep...good ol rockwood ladies...maybe all the creatures were out since we had such a big storm the night before...we like those paths and hiking with the kids there...fun!
