Chat-a-Moose!

Love my MWF mornings with my little side kick...He loves superheros (just like Daddy) and has lucked into several being handed down to him lately...above he and Ironman check out a fountain...

Carter is starting to talk more and more:
"What's dis Momma?"
"It's a _____ Momma!!!"
"Read it to me Momma!"
"It's my turn Momma!"

He is obsessed with sticks...last summer they were off limits for him bc I didn't want him to fall with them...don't want to squash his "nature-ness," but I think they are going to be off limits again this yr...he just falls down too much with them in hand....hoping to get him a light saber soon to quench his love of sticks...or a sword..."it's a sword Momma!" I love how most of his current sentences end with "Momma!!!"

I love chatting with him more...he has already met 1 of his 4 speech goals between when he was evaluated a month ago and his first speech session last week...we are so excited about having more convos with our little Moose!

With more talking he is also cranking the Terrible 2s up a notch...often choosing "the hard way" instead of the "easy way"...we all go through it...it reminds me of the book "We're Going on a Bear Hunt"..."we can't go over it, we can't go under it, we can't go around it.....WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH IT!" Gotta go through the Terrible 2s, but we are thankful for our little guy...even when he is a BEAR! :)

He has the best laugh and smile and he cracks us up with his antics so much each day!

Memory Lane

On Sunday when M got up from rest time we headed into town to meet Aunt Susan to feed the ducks while the boys of the house snoozed on! We fed the ducks at the lake where my grandmother Sug used to take us when we would visit her...after we fed the ducks Susan had the idea of going back to Sug's neighborhood to walk around since it was such a nice day...

It was so fun to take a trip down "memory lane" with my sister and point things out to Mallory...above M is hopping down the sidewalk MiMi used to hop down as a child...below Mal and I get a pic in front of Sug's old house... :)

I miss Sug and all the fun we used to have with her...it was neat to take M back there and walk around...we have driven past the house many times, but never walked around in her neighborhood...so that was really fun to walk slowly past houses and chat about who used to live where and stories about the fun we had...
And no walk could be complete without some wishes...below Aunt Susan and M make some "dandelion wishes..." M used to call dandelions..."dandy-wishes"...
Thanks for a fun trip down Memory Lane Aunt SQ!

RAM-bunctious!

To borrow a friend's status on FB...we were feeling a little "RAM-bunctious" on Sat night watching the Final Four...I played it safe and went for Jersey Mike's this time so I wouldn't be watching the game from the ER waiting room again....hehehe...It was so fun to eat a picnic and cheer for VCU...We even got PaPa a VCU t-shirt since his college made it to the Final Four....(He and MiMi were watching in NC with Aunt Laura, Matt, and his parents...)
There was so much excitement about the game....and the game didn't disappoint....it was quite a "nail biter"!

Even thought VCU lost it was such a fun game to watch! :)!

1st EVER Game Day

Today was M's 1st ever GAME DAY! We had to split the fam so we could be at the race and the game at the same time...(M&M were gonna meet us at the race after, but parking proved to be a problem so M&M will catch up with Aunt Suzy tomorrow hopefully!) Mike and Mal were so excited as they headed out...Mike did a great job documenting...Hard for me to miss one of her "1sts"! Here they are in a huddle with "Coach Matt"...

Check out our little #49! It was windy and brisk this morning...but the SUN was shinning! :)

We like this league bc the practice and games are back to back...and an hr total...nice way to ease into the whole organized sports thing...(we wanted to try Upwards bc we had been to lots of games for older kids in the past and loved it, but they didn't end up having Upwards Soccer this spring near us so we signed up with i9!)
Below M is holding hands with her buddy from church...

Church friends and now soccer friends...so fun! Looking fwd to next Sat!

#49 kicks the ball down field....not toward the goal, but down the field...yay! :) Go SUPER PEE WEES!!! :)

Aunt Susan's 10k

Aunt Suzy ran her first ever 10k this morning and did AWESOME! She was done in a little over an hour! I'm impressed! She ran with her good friend Beth...so many people were out for it! So exciting to see so many people out and excited down town...Carter and I waited at the finish line to celebrate with the runners...and celebrate we did! Carter loved dancing to the music of the band...and he wore his top hat too! Congrats Susan and Beth! Maybe next year I'll join you!

Coach Daddy

Mike and Mallory working on her skillz in the backyard...complete with her "Rapunzel" dress on of course!

A piece of the action...

Extra Hands

We have had a wonderful week with lots of extra HELPING HANDS! I am so grateful...with the B&As in the morning and afternoon to help, friends for playdates, then Mike home after work I've had lots of help and by Wed. I've been able to use my hand more...it's healing and I can't wait to get the stitches out on Monday! YAY!

The kids have been OBSESSED this week with dressing up....Carter in his black hat and M in her "Rapunzel dress"....a dress that was passed down long ago that suddenly looks "Rapunzel-ish"...the hat and dress are on every.single.day....obsessed I tell you!

And another big milestone this week....signed this little girl up for her "first organized sports team"....She has been so excited this week playing soccer around the house and in the yard! :)
