Madame Blueberry

Wanted to write down a few things that Mallory has been doing lately so we won't forget! She loves to curl her tongue like a hot dog bun...she and her dad have the genetic trait..I don't. She does it all the time! She loves to wave at people and say, "Hi!" She had a lot of fun doing that around Harris Teeter as she pushed her cart along. She also had a grand time with us at Welcome today at church greeting people as they entered. She has also learned this weekend how to sign for more of something. It is really cool to see her communicating with us. It's a hard stage because she understands things and knows what she wants, but doesn't have the words to tell us. Mallory also loooooooooves "gog-ies" (doggies) and if she had words we know she would be begging to have one of her own! (We love dogs, but want to wait until our kids are older to get one.) She saw this dog across the room this morning at church and just had to get a snuggle with him. She also is in love with blueberries...hence the title...We love our little girl and she is growing up so fast...we don't want to forget a thing! :)

Visit to Auntie LuLu's...

We had a wonderful time in NC with Laura over the past few days. Mallory really loved her "gog-y" (dog) and spending time with her aunt. Mallory was dressed to the 9s with all the little outfits Laura got her for Easter and V-Day. We went out to lots of yummy restaurants around town and did fix it work around her house and yard. (Everyone but me...I took lots of naps!) MiMi, Mal, and I took a walk around the HPU campus...Mallory was deathly afraid of Aristotle when she and MiMi sat down for a picture...The highlight of the trip for Mallory was a trip to Harris Teeter...Mallory got to be a "Customer in Training" and loved every minute of it! :)

Zolly Hugs...

We took advantage of teachers and wives being on break this week and got together with Kylen and his parents for a playdate. :) It was so good to catch up and watch the kids interact! Kylen was so sweet and was giving lots of hugs! Can't wait to hang out again!

Molar MaGee

Happy Easter!

Flashback to Mallory's 1st Easter....

And now pics from today...
Her Easter basket this morning with lots of goodies...

Before church playing in her new fav spot in the booth and pointing to MiMi and PaPa...
Playing "the drums" with PaPa...
Loving the rocking horse...

How adorable are the shoes MiMi got her for Easter?!?!?!
Her Easter basket from MiMi and PaPa...
Hanging out with MiMi and her new glowing rabbit...

We had a great Easter! We all went to our church this morning for the service (except PaPa who was feeling under the weather) and then we had a nice meal and hung out at MiMi and PaPa's for the day.

An Egg-Stravaganza!

Inspecting the "goods" after the hunt...

Story time with the other children from birth to 3 yrs...

Our family...
Mike is showcasing one of the fabulous rings Mallory got inside an egg!
We had our church Easter Egg Hunt today! It was so fun....With food, story time, and crafts! Mallory wanted to get started right away before the whistle blew to begin (a lesson for her in patience)...but then when all the other kids were off she hung back and became shy...with the help of friends and her parents she got eggs though! Once she had a few she sat right down to go through them...not caring at all about the all the rest in the grass all around her! :)

Diner O' Morins!

We got a lovely booth for our kitchen from Rita and John last night! It fits perfectly and helps us all eat together in our small kitchen! We feel like we are at a little diner now when we sit down for a meal! We enjoyed our first breakfast this morning as a family at our new table! Thanks again! :) We are loving it!

Celebrate! :)

U/S at 12 wks and 2 days....we are so grateful for this little life!!! :)
Out to dinner to celebrate! The hat stayed on for about 2 secs!

So we found out that ice cream is the best way to teach your child about spoons! She really got into it and has been doing so much better at home over the last couple of weeks with her baby spoons and forks...(we forgot her bib for the restaurant though! Oops!)

We are so EXCITED to announce that we are expecting a little one Sept. 20! :) We are so thankful! Please join us in praying for our little one's health and a safe delivery in the fall!

Mallory had fun with her 2nd cousins today...Can't wait to hang out again at the beach this summer! :)
Mallory also enjoyed her first Easter Egg Hunt with them! She was very excited to carry her basket around...not so into finding the eggs...but Carolyn and Lauren were sweet and put lots in her basket that they found! :)

Baby Amina Grace

Congrats to one of my college roomies on the birth of her daughter last night...Amina Grace! We are so excited for you Carol and Doug! Can't wait to meet her one day when you visit the East Coast! :)!!!!

Nice Neighbors!

Our neighbors Frank and Hattie gave us some money to go get Mallory a toy a bit ago...and today was the perfect day to bring home a new baby doll for Mallory...it came with a singing car seat and 2 bottles with magic milk and OJ! The kind from my childhood that disappear when you feed the baby...Mallory loves it and it is helping to cheer her up today! :) We are so grateful for such wonderful neighbors!

Mallory the Vet...

Mallory is feeling a bit under the weather today with a low grade fever and a slight rash...we think it is a reaction to her 15 month shot. The doctor had told us she could have a reaction a week late...so we have had a low key day around the house...PaPa came and installed the gate at the top of the stairs while Mike and Mallory played and MiMi and I went shopping for an Easter dress for Mallory....we found 2!!!...can't wait for her to wear them on Easter Egg Hunts and at church...and the shoes we found are adorable! Yay! Hard to believe there are only a few weeks til Easter! :)
Mallory gets sooooo upset when we go to the doctor...even when we take her temp. at home she gets all worked up...so after taking her temp today we tried to play up how cool the thermometer is and let her play with it...she got into playing "vet" with Maggie...we have such patient cats don't we? (Well 2/3 isn't bad!) And we found the cartoon story of Samuel on TBN so that's what is playing in the background on TV...

Down by the Lake...

Checking out the birds...wish we had brought some bread with us!
Playing in the pirate ship...
Nigel and Maggie taking a nap...Can you find Maggie? :)

Met up with MiMi this afternoon at a local park...loving the 70 degree weather! We took a stroll along the water and Mallory loved the ducks and geese...then we finished with some fun on the playground....Can't wait for tomorrow...it's going to be 72! :)

Uganda

We had a pastor come to our church today from Uganda...his stories were so powerful. It's overwhelming to think of all the blessings we have here in America when so many are suffering in the world.
Click on the site and then click on video and then "video for schools" to see the video he showed before he spoke today...

PJs = Free Ice Cream

MiMi was a trooper (PaPa wasn't up for the adventure) and joined us for free ice cream this afternoon in our PJs at a local ice cream place...it was a little cold, but fun to hang out and celebrate the coming of Spring! :)

Sorting in Sammy's Room...

When I went to get her in the morning for Nannying her tush was up in the air as she slept...how cute....(I couldn't get the best angle for the pic because of the bumper)...so hard to wake her up when she looks so comfy! :)
See the mischief in her eyes? She loves "playing" in Sammy's crib after Sam gets up...
And below she is sorting with my help...a new game she loves....
